Chicago’s nauveau disco rap superstar, Geneva-visiting activist, and community goofball Ric Wilson has dropped three crucial EP’s “SOul Bounce” (2019), “Negrow Disco” (2017) & most Recently “BANBA” (2018).
Ric also, is one of the 8 delagates chosen to travel to Geneva, Switzerland in 2014 representing the We Charge Genocide coalition. They successfully presented a shadow report and testifies at the united Nations, charging the Chicago Police Department with genocide adn torture actions on Black and brown youth within the City of Chicago. The Trip was covered both domestically and internationally, including the UK, Switzerland, France, Japan, India, Qatar, South Africa, Singapore, Pakis, and Breibart. He is currently one of the faces of the new Bonobos Menswear campaign “Project 172” who is providing 172 different fits of their new pants for all shapes and sizes, designed specifically to challenge the accepted, rigid morns of masculinity and what a man looks like.
He recently played at Pitchfork, Rolling Loud Miami, SXSW & Treefort 2019. “Banba” Debut EP dropped 5/18/18, and was #8 in the Chicago Tribune’s Top 10 Chicago albums of 2018.
