The House Jacks
A cappella usually means without instrumental accompaniment, but when you hear the drums and guitars that are all part of The House Jacks sound you may find it hard to believe that they come from no instruments at all. Using nothing more than their five mouths, they deliver everything from screaming rock to heartbreaking ballads. The House Jacks unprecedented rhythm, creative song writing and sound reminiscent of Boyz II Men prompted The Temptations to say, “Man they can really sing.” Having already toured the United States and parts of Europe and Asia, the impressive vocal arrangement of these five men have earned them a fan base worldwide. The Oakland Tribune says The House Jacks offer “a battery of sounds that make mincemeat of the traditional limits of the human voice…”
The House Jacks have appeared with James Brown, Ray Charles, Jon Secada, LL Cool J, the Neville Brothers, former president Bill Clinton, Crosby, Sills & Nash, The Pointer Sisters, The Temptations, The Gap Band, Tower of Power, Starship, Run-DMC, and many others.
The original Jacks met each other while singing in a capella groups at their various colleges on the East Coast. They all moved to San Francisco to form The House Jacks in September 1991.
