College Musician Lijie
Hailing from China but growing up in the US, Lijie’s story is one of unexpected turns and self-discovery. Her folks were all about perfect grades and perfect English, plus they threw piano lessons into the mix without realizing they were laying the groundwork for her artistic journey. Then came a college hiccup — she got caught cheating on a test. But instead of playing the victim, Lijie took it as a wake-up call. “It was something I did, it wasn’t something *bad* done to me. And I knew something had to change” she reflects. Too embarrassed to spill the beans to her family, she decided to stick it out with school, but with a new plan in mind: chase her music dreams afterward.
Taking a bold leap, Lijie moved to Los Angeles, against her parents’ wishes, and started hustling — waiting tables by day and hitting up every open mic night she could by night. That’s where she crafted and eventually recorded her first album, Roam. Her journey didn’t stop there; with her fans backing her, she brought The Music Maker to life. Now, still in LA, Lijie’s all about making new tunes, working with other creatives, and letting music be the escape, to the tune of over 850 monthly listeners on Spotify! College Music Duo Compass and Cavern
Compass and Cavern got their start as an alternative rock band in Denver, Colorado, in 2015. Their musical talent and fantastic sound got them noticed by Motion City Soundtrack’s Justin Courtney Pierre and Mating Ritual on countrywide tours. Their talent has given rise to over 150k streams on Spotify and over 1700 monthly listeners! Compass and Cavern recently released an EP that expands their repertoire with strong riffs, power chords, melodic synths, banging drums and incredible vocals. Check them out!
