G Yamazawa
G Yamazawa 2014’s National Poetry Slam Champion, a Cultural Diplomat for the Department of State, Kundiman fellow, and is Team Backpack certified. Performing spoken word at over 200 college campuses domestic and internationally, Yamazawa has also been featured on NBC, ABC, NPR, and PBS. Notable performances include Sundance Film Festival and The Pentagon. With music on Apple Music and Spotify, and thousands of views on Youtube, G Yamazawa is a common name in poetry and rap. G continues to challenge the American perspective of race and culture with poems like “10 Things you Should Know About Being an Asian from the South” and others like “Elementary” which won him the 2014 National Poetry Slam title. His cultural diversity and entertaining performances provide inspiring and relatable stories to college students.
