S.A.R.A.: Sexual Assault Recovery Assistant
Loved in 20+ countries as a comedian and circus performer and soon to be seen on the Discovery channel, Sara is an award-winning entertainer and speaker who uses her unique skillset to facilitate conversations around mental health and sexual assault. As a PTSD and trauma survivor, she does presentations around the country that enable audiences to have real tools to deal with mental health challenges. Unlike other presenters, Sara specializes in facilitating events that integrate community building, comedy, circus tricks, and stories that leave audiences feeling impacted, empowered and connected.
Outcome: After participating in this event, it is expected that students will be able to:
- UNDERSTAND: Consent, sexual assault, and the signs of hazardous situations.
- DEFINE: Boundaries, communication tools, and safety plans.
- COMMUNICATE: Develop your communication toolkit to keep your and others safe from harm.
- EMPOWER + ENGAGE: Feel inspired and ready to be an empowered bystander, and feel informed an capable to create safe situations for yourself.
